„Whaleboat“ is a sculpture that recreates the form
of a traditional mid 19th century whaleboat, but
build with a skin-on-frame technique.
The sculpture was made for the exhibition “before the turtle snaps” in a soon to be
demolished building in the center of Frankfurt,
Germany.
Its original inspiration came from the idea to link
the real estate market of the 21st century to the
whaling industry of the 18th and 19th century.
Both industries are based upon sigular objects of enormous value potential.
It hunts the space it is shown inside of.
